Isabelle Gauthier, MS, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice with over 8 years of experience providing support and assistance to children, teens, adults, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma, marital problems, truancy issues, and parent-child relationships.
Clients are drawn to Isabelle’s active, thoughtful participation in therapy and the way she both challenges and supports clients through their most difficult moments. She is also able to support families with children that are at risk of being removed from their homes or in crisis.
Isabelle is a trained therapist in the practice of Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT). This model focuses on treatment for children and families experiencing behavioral and/or relational challenges and is based on the theory that change in family structure contributes to change in the behavior of individual members. ESFT begins with the fundamental assumption that both the child and caregivers functioning are linked to their relational environments at home and in the community. Treating a child within this model means working simultaneously with the child and family, the home setting, and the family’s community network.
Isabelle holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from Chestnut Hill College and has a certification in Family-Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS).
