About Boyer Counseling Group

Our community is plagued with high level of unemployment, underemployment, gun violence, and women as the head of households. These factors are traumatic to the people in our community and those people rarely have a productive outlet to process this trauma. Isabelle is a trained therapist in the practice of Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT). This model focuses on treatment for children and families experiencing behavioral and/or relational challenges and is based on the theory that change in family structure contributes to change in the behavior of individual members. ESFT begins with the fundamental assumption that both the child and caregivers functioning are linked to their relational environments at home and in the community. Treating a child within this model means working simultaneously with the child and family, the home setting, and the family’s community network.

Isabelle holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from Chestnut Hill College and has a certification in Family-Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS).

Laborer

My husband and I were going through a rough patch in our marriage as I’m sure most couples do. I began looking for a therapist who was Muslim so that he or she would be familiar with our beliefs. I happened upon Farida’s website, made a call and got an appointment immediately. Farida is very professional, thorough and neutral. She doesn’t take side, but rather helps each person understand the role that the may have played. If your are committed Farida provides the tools that are needed so that you can get your marriage back on track.

S.A.
Attending therapy Is like cleaning a mirror full of finger prints. As you work through the experiences, people, places and things that have and are leaving an imprint on your life and identity, you can see yourself more clearly. Therapy with Farida has been thoroughly empowering and sustaining. It has increased my self-compassion and self-awareness, and given me a language to process versus push emotions away. I am forever grateful that I found Farida, and look forward to continuing to work with her.
